HMD Global has announced its official partnership with FC Barcelona as the club’s official smartphone partner. The company will support both the men’s and women’s teams as part of this three-year partnership.
The partnership also includes other sports teams of the club, such as basketball, futsal, handball and roller hockey. The partnership was announced by the young player’s hairdresser, Lamine Yamal, who created a hairstyle that featured the HMD logo next to the Barcelona crest, announcing the official partnership.
Under the agreement, HMD’s phone ads will appear on digital billboards at the Olympic Stadium, where FC Barcelona currently plays. When the team moves to Camp Nou, the ads will move there as well.
The partnership will later expand to include dedicated digital content to excite audiences and enhance the visibility of the partnership.
HMD is replacing Oppo, which was the club’s previous smartphone partner and has recently focused on its partnerships with UEFA to promote its devices during the Champions League.
