11bit Studio Announces Official Mods for Frostpunk 2
11bit Studio has revealed some good news for Frostpunk 2 fans. Despite the game’s release being delayed for a few months, the studio has announced the launch of official mod tools called “Frostkit.”
These tools will allow players to create custom maps, add new models, and even completely change the game environment. Users can share their creations via the mod.io platform.
The game's technical director, Shimon Yablonsky, said that moving to Unreal Engine allowed the team to develop these tools, which had been a major request from the community since the first game was released.
The tools will initially be in beta, and the studio will rely on community feedback to develop them in the future. A closed beta will also be available to some creators and players before the game is released.
Frostpunk 2 is scheduled to release on September 20 on PC and PC Game Pass. Xbox and PlayStation versions will be released at a later date, with no specific date announced.
