CES 2025: Samsung unveils the QS700F sound bar and Q990F updates
◾ New QS700F sound bar with redesigned subwoofer
◾ Q990F updates include a smaller subwoofer with stronger performance
◾ Support for the new Eclipsa Audio platform for 3D audio
Samsung announced a new sound bar at CES 2025, where it presented the HW-QS700F model, which is designed to be placed on a shelf or hung on the wall at a 90-degree angle. It features the ability to automatically optimize sound depending on the installation position thanks to a built-in gyroscope sensor.
The QS700F soundbar comes with a redesigned subwoofer, the same one included with the new Q990F model. During a quick demo, it demonstrated crisp, clear audio performance.
As for the Q990F sound bar, it maintains the 11.1.4-channel system with Dolby Atmos support, but with the size of the subwoofer reduced to less than half and improving performance. The system includes wireless rear speakers with upward-firing speakers to enhance the surround sound experience.
Samsung is also introducing new AI features to improve sound quality, such as Active Voice Amplifier Pro and Q-Symphony Pro, to enhance dialogue intelligibility and analyze audio in coordination with the TV's processor.
The company is also working in cooperation with Google to develop the Eclipsa Audio platform for 3D audio, which will be supported by televisions and speakers in 2025. The platform will allow creators to modify sound data and location to obtain surround sound, with the ability to upload video clips that support this technology to YouTube later this year.
Samsung has not yet revealed the prices and availability dates of the new models.
