Apple plans to offer all new Macs this year with at least 16GB of RAM, up from 8GB previously on base models.
The presence of 8GB of RAM as a standard has long drawn criticism from users who see it as insufficient for some professional tasks. A report from Bloomberg indicated that Apple is testing four new Mac models with a chip M4It will come with 16GB or 32GB of RAM.
This expected update includes devices such as: MacBook Pro andMac mini andiMacRaising the minimum memory will likely be part of future feature support.
Previously, some models had only 8GB of base memory, with options to upgrade at purchase for an additional cost. But with the current design of built-in memory in Apple devices, it cannot be upgraded after purchase.
So, increasing the minimum RAM to 16GB may better meet the needs of users.
