Google adds adaptive touch to Pixel 9 display
Google launched the new Pixel 9 with an “Adaptive Touch” feature on the screen, which automatically adjusts touch sensitivity based on the surrounding conditions. This feature makes using the phone easier if your fingers are wet, if you are wearing gloves, or if there is a screen protector.
The new feature first appeared in the settings of the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL phones. Although Google did not mention it at the event in which it unveiled these phones, it has been expected since last March when evidence of its presence was discovered in a beta version of Android 14.
It is noteworthy that this feature is not available in Pixel 8 phones, which indicates that it needs special support from the hardware available in the new generation.
In addition to this feature, the Pixel 9 phones came with other improvements that Google did not officially announce, such as improving the upgrade process and increasing security in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold phone.
