Microsoft Delays Recall Feature to October
Microsoft has announced that it has again postponed the launch of the controversial Recall feature, which aims to track user activity on Windows 11 Copilot Plus computers.
Recall was scheduled to launch last June, but it raised major privacy concerns due to its extensive data tracking capabilities.
In response to the criticism, Microsoft decided to turn Recall from a default setting to an optional feature with additional security enhancements.
Despite these changes, it wasn’t enough, and on June 13 the company announced that Recall would be delayed to a later stage of the Windows Insider program rather than being part of the Copilot Plus hardware launch.
In a new update, Microsoft has announced an additional delay to the Recall feature. The feature was expected to be available to Windows Insiders in the coming weeks, but it has now been delayed to October.
In an official statement, Microsoft explained: “As part of our commitment to delivering a reliable and secure Recall experience, we are sharing an update that the feature will be available to Windows Insiders starting in October.”
