Minecraft will end support for virtual reality headsets in 2025

Mojang, the developer of Minecraft, has announced that it will end support for all virtual reality headsets after March 2025, according to an update published in the version change log. Bedrock.

The resolution includes Oculus Rift, Windows Mixed Reality, and Meta Ques glasses. Last month, the company announced that it would end support for PlayStation virtual reality glasses next March.

Users can continue building in their worlds and access their purchases from the store on traditional screens. There are also alternatives to playing in VR via the Java version using add-ons like Vivecraft or standalone apps like QuestCraft.

The game launched virtual reality support in 2016 With Samsung Gear glasses, before expanding to support Oculus Rift and PlayStation. The company previously stopped the Minecraft Earth augmented reality application in 2020.
