Qualcomm launches Snapdragon X Plus with octa-core

Qualcomm has unveiled a new octa-core Snapdragon X Plus processor, in a move aimed at bringing AI-powered PCs to consumers at affordable prices.

The new 4nm processor comes with a Hexagon Neural Processing Unit capable of performing 45 trillion operations per second, providing powerful AI capabilities on the device itself.

The processor speed reaches 3.2 GHz for all cores, with the possibility of a single core reaching 3.4 GHz. Qualcomm confirms that the new processor provides battery life that extends for days in laptops.

The processor also includes an integrated Adreno graphics processing unit, which supports operating up to three external displays with a resolution of 4K and a frequency of 60 Hz, or two displays with a resolution of 5K and a frequency of 60 Hz. It also supports an internal display with a resolution of UHD and a frequency of 120 Hz with HDR10 technology.

The first PCs with the Snapdragon X Plus octa-core processor will be available from Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and others, starting today.
