Sony surprisingly adds Final Fantasy 16 to PS Plus games library

You can now download Final Fantasy 16 for free through the PS Plus service on PlayStation 5 devices. The game is available in its full version and not a trial version as was the case before.

The game is available on PS Plus Extra and Premium now, but we don't know if this is intentional or a technical error in the PlayStation Store. In any case, we advise you to head to Playstation Store (American) and download the game before the error is discovered if it is indeed an error and is removed.

Square Enix has stated that the sales of the game, as well as FF7 and other games released exclusively on PlayStation platforms, were less than expected, and attributed this to the release of these titles exclusively on PlayStation platforms, while it has decided from now on to release all of its major games on multiple platforms.

There's been talk and hints that Final Fantasy 16 might be coming to Xbox, but so far we've only gotten confirmation that the game will be released on PC on September 17.

Game appearance within service games PS Plus It may be intentional in order to improve the game's sales figures. Let's not forget that adding it to Sony's game library means that there is another paid deal that was made for that, and it seems that this is one of the ways in which Sony wants to improve the game's revenues through this step on its platforms.

What's interesting is that Sony has not announced in any way its intention to bring Final Fantasy 16 to the PS Plus games library, which raises the curiosity of many about whether its appearance this morning in the service's games library was due to a mistake or intentionally.
