Who said I'm not an athlete?! It's a new diverse sports event that will be launched in the Sports Village at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah. It will combine electronic, mental and physical sports.
The event comes in line with the Kingdom's great vision 2030 to build better opportunities for participating sports, by holding a group of events and competitions that spread awareness in the community about the existence of these sports, and enhance professional sports and awareness work, in addition to enhancing the practice of sports towards building an aware sports community.
Various sports practices
The “Who Said I’m Not an Athlete?” event will offer several activities on the event grounds, which can be divided into 5 sections as follows:
- Cosplay
- Interactive competitions
- Electronic games
- Board games
- Open chats
Event sections: “Who said I’m not an athlete?”
The event activities will be distributed over 3 main sections through which visitors and invitees can practice their favorite sport in a comfortable manner and at a high level. These sections are as follows:
- Esports Department
- Mind Sports Department
- Physical Sports Department
The Esports section will be the main one among the other platforms, as it will include two main areas:
1) Tournaments Area
Here in this section, the main competitive events and sports championships will be held within the “Who Said I’m Not an Athlete?” events. There will be 3 main games around which all the championships that will be held during the days of the event will revolve, and they are as follows:
- TEKKEN 8 fighting game
- Mortal Kombat 1 fighting game
- EA Sport FC 24 Football Game
2) Casual Area
In this area, players will be able to register in different communities and try out some of the games targeted in the King Abdulaziz University Federation for Electronic Sports tournaments. This area will also contain 4 sections (booths) through which players can learn about the following:
- eSports.
- Saudi Electronic Sports Federation.
- King Abdulaziz University Federation for Electronic Sports.
- Games tournaments and how to participate in them.
- He also has the opportunity to get to know one of the biggest teams.
eSports.
The “Who Said I’m Not an Athlete?” event will start on Sunday, September 1, 2024, and all the various activities will continue for 4 days, concluding on the evening of Wednesday, September 4. The events will continue over the four days from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM Saudi time.
